When you’re sitting down with a group of polite Victorian ladies, it is best to try to fit in.
The house, like its shingle styled neighbors from the 1890s, plays loosely with symmetries and incorporates many of the architectural details from them as well.
Previously on the property was an original carriage house. We re-incorporated its form and interior finishes into a new guest wing, including iron work from the original horse stalls.
We would like to think that anyone passing by today sees this new house as always being part of the original neighborhood.
